A: Here at KrakenPNW, we use a soft scrub brush to remove stubborn moss on roofs, which is a safe and effective way of cleaning your roof. Scrubbing is required for most cases because the moss is tightly embedded in the roof shingles. We DO NOT use pressure washers on asphalt roofs; this will cause damage to your roof by removing the asphalt particles. These particles help resist water and protect against hail, wind, and natural elements.
Q: What is soft washing, and can it get rid of my mossy roof?
A: Soft washing is different than pressure washing because it uses low-pressure water and it is often mixed with cleaning chemicals to remove moss, algae, dirt, and mildew without harming the roof or siding. Yes, soft washing is an effective method to kill moss and remove any black algae stains on your roof.
Q: How do you clean windows without leaving streaks?
A: We only use professional-grade squeegees and deionized water-fed poles, which leave a spot free, streak free finish.
Q: What happens if it rains after my windows were cleaned?
A: Rainwater alone won't make your windows dirty. Spots come from dust, pollen or dirty screens. If you are worried about future water stains we can provide a protective hydrophobic solution for your windows.
Q: Do I need to be home while you are working on my house?
A: Not necessarily, as long as we can access work areas such as gates and fences. This makes easy for you to leave if needed to carry out your daily schedule. We will send updates before, during and after service. This will also include before and after pictures of your project needed. Even if you are not present, invoices will be sent via text/email when the job is done.

A: We include a transportation fee to cover fuel costs, travel time, and wear and tear on vehicles and equipment. Transportation fees are standard in professional service companies and it allows us to keep service pricing fair in addition to ensuring we arrive fully equipped to do the job right.
Q: Why should I get my solar panels cleaned?
A: Keeping your solar panels clean is very important because dirt, pollen, debris, and moss block sunlight to your panels and reduce efficiency. Regular cleanings help your solar panels produce more energy, lowers your utility costs and protects your long-term investment.
Q: What happens if I need to cancel my services for my scheduled cleaning?
A: We require a cancellation fee of $100. This is because we value your time and ours. When an appointment is booked, we reserve that time exclusively for you. The $100 cancellation fee helps cover lost time, scheduling gaps and preparation costs if appointments are canceled without sufficient notice.
Q: Are you licensed and insured?
A: Yes! we are fully licensed and insured, so if anything were to happen to your home, our insurance would cover any repairs.
Q: Do you offer bundled services or maintenance plans?
A: Yes, we provide a bundle service as well as yearly maintenance plans. Ask how you can get up to 20% off with a service plan!
Q: What if I don't' have a lot that needs to get done and it takes you a couple minutes?
A: We still offer services for smaller jobs, but we have a service minimum of $150.
